My Unforgettable Beach Wedding in Jamaica

My Unforgettable Beach Wedding in Jamaica

12th Jun 2026

From the moment I tried this dress on, I knew I had made the right choice. The fabric is incredibly soft and comfortable, which mattered so much to me because I wanted to enjoy my wedding day without feeling stiff or restricted. I did have a little trouble getting the zipper all the way up at first, but that was more due to some rib issues I have rather than the dress itself.

To be safe, we pinned the zipper so it stayed in place, and since the dress laces up the back over the zipper, the ribbon covered everything beautifully. You couldn’t see the zipper at all, and it ended up looking intentional and elegant rather than like a fix.

I received so many compliments on this dress throughout the day. People kept stopping me to tell me how beautiful it was, and I felt genuinely happy that I chose it. What makes the story even funnier is that this dress was not actually my first choice. The first dress I ordered was supposedly “lost at sea,” which felt devastating at the time. But now I truly believe that things work out the way they’re meant to. This dress turned out to be the one I was supposed to wear.

We were married in a gazebo on the beach at Sandals Negril Resort in Jamaica. It rained heavily that day, and for a moment, I thought it would ruin everything. But instead of panicking, I decided to embrace it. I went out into the rain barefoot in my gown, spinning and laughing in the sand.

Life isn’t about being tense and controlling every detail. It’s about letting go and enjoying the moment — and that’s exactly what I did. I had strangers stopping me later to ask, “Were you the bride playing in the sand in the rain?” And yes, that was me.

I wanted Jamaican sand in the hem of my dress, and I got it — plus in my shoes. I kept it all as a memory, something physical I could hold onto forever from that day. My gown wasn’t just something I wore; it became part of the experience itself.

Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing. The rain, the beach, the barefoot dancing, and this dress all came together to create a wedding day that felt real, joyful, and unforgettable.
