That Prom Dress Had Me Feeling Like THE Main Character

4th Jun 2026

Prom season is popping off again so I had to come on here and talk about my dress from last year. Like, I STILL think about it. I seriously LOVED this dress — and I don’t say that about everything.

First off, the color. Y’all, it was so pigmented. Like it popped on my skin in a way that made me stop and stare at myself in the mirror for a good minute. No weird faded mess, just rich and beautiful.

Now for the fit. I ordered up to a 24 because I wanted breathing room (and maybe a snack or two tucked in there lol). When it came, I had plenty of space. There’s these strings in the back so you can adjust it to fit just right. They weren’t a huge pain or anything — I just had my mom do it cause I couldn’t reach like that. Shoutout to moms fr.

The fabric? Not itchy at all. And I’m super picky about that cause nothing ruins a night like feeling like you’re wearing a Brillo pad. This was actually high quality. Plus — and this is huge — no fishy smell. Cause lemme tell you, I ordered another dress from somewhere else that straight up smelled like low tide ?? Had to scrap the whole thing last minute. So yeah, this was a major win.

To get that full, poofy look in my pictures, I grabbed a petticoat to wear under it. I don’t think I can drop a link but honestly any petticoat works. And get this — it made my waist look smaller too. Like a bonus I didn’t even see coming.

For accessories, I got all my jewelry from the same site. And my braids? I got a pack of 5 from Amazon for like $32. Super easy. When I bought the dress it was around $199 and it showed up in 12 days. No horror stories, no delays.

Overall? This dress literally made my prom night. I got SO many compliments — like random people I didn’t even know coming up to me. If you’re sitting there trying to decide whether to get it, this is your sign. Just do it. You won’t regret it ?
